Bourton Vale Equine Clinic has large purpose built surgical facilities with two induction and recovery rooms. We have a specially designed surgical table with innovative mat design to minimise muscle damage (myositis) during surgical procedures. Anaesthesia is maintained via gas inhalation. The recovery boxes are set up for rope recovery to minimise problems post surgery.
There is a large digital radiography suite which includes our scintigraphy unit.
There are two well appointed examination rooms. One of the examination rooms contains stocks for standing surgical procedures or mare ultrasound examinations.
We have a full in house laboratory allowing fast turn around on all laboratory work. The laboratory is available for outside use by other vet practices.
In our main American barn style stable block we have twelve boxes of which three are set up for intensive care cases. We also have three isolation stables in a separate barn.
There is a Joint Measurement Board pad allowing official measurements to be done at the practice.
Outside there are specific areas for lameness investigation including a designated hard trot up strip and an outdoor school for evaluating horses under saddle.
There are five post and railed turnout paddocks of different sizes.
